This may include representatives of general circulation newspapers, periodical magazines of general circulation sold through newsstands and/or subscriptions to the general public, online outlets, local/national/international news services and radio/television stations/networks holding a Federal Communication Commission license. The term “news media” refers to organizations whose primary purpose is not for commercial production or entertainment. It is the policy of the Arkansas Division of Correction to provide representatives of the news media with access to correctional facilities, inmates, and programs to the maximum extent possible without adversely affecting the operations of the facility or program. Failure to control and supervise children is grounds for termination of the visit. Visitors are responsible for keeping children under control. However, only two (2) approved adult visitors may accompany the minor children when the limit of four (4) is exceeded. The spouse of an inmate and all children, regardless of the number, may visit. Where space is limited, the Warden/Center Supervisor is authorized, as approved by the Director, to divide the inmate population in such a manner as to balance the number of visitors present on either visitation day.įour visitors are allowed during any one visit, including children. In cases where inmates of the same immediate family are housed at the same unit/center, the Warden/Center Supervisor may approve requests by those inmates to visit on the same day, per the schedule of the lower class inmate.Ħ. Beginning Ap– All Class II, III and IV inmates will be permitted two (2) visits a month, either the first and third Saturday of the month or the second and fourth Saturday of the month as determined by the Unit’s schedule. ![]() Beginning Ap– All Class I inmates will be permitted weekly Sunday visits for a maximum of four (4) or five (5) visits a month depending upon the number of Sundays.ĥ. and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., except as authorized by the Director.Ĥ. Beginning Ap– Hours for visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. There will be no visitation on holidays unless the holiday falls on a regular visitation day.ģ. Saturdays and Sundays will be designated visitation days for all routine visits.Ģ. Visitation Hours/Schedule and Number of Allowable VisitorsĪll eligible inmates shall be entitled to visitation privileges only in accordance with the following schedule:ġ. IMPORTANT: Anyone who is not on an inmate’s approved visitation list will not be allowed to visit. Approved visitors may not be listed on more than one inmate’s visitation list unless the visitor is confirmed as an immediate family member of each inmate and approved by the Warden or Center Supervisor.* Visitors age 12 and older are required to provide state-issued photo identification for entry into a correctional facility. * Minor children (under age 18) may not be allowed to visit unless accompanied by an approved adult visitor, or upon proof of emancipation. A criminal history check is done on all prospective visitors. The screening process can take seven (7) days or longer. The inmate is responsible for providing visitors with applications. Applications are then processed, reviewed and either approved or denied by the Warden. Each visitor must complete a visitation application and return it to the address listed on the form to the attention of the Unit Visitation Clerk. ![]()
